Dr. Sawin is a highly trained Reproductive Endocrinologist who is part of the fertility specialist team at South Jersey Fertility Center, a participating provider in the WINFertility Network.
Education and Certification
Dr. Sawin received his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class. He completed both his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, during which time he won the medical student teaching award.
He is double-board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Sawin is the Director of the Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis Program and Assistant Director of IVF at South Jersey Fertility Center. He has performed over 1,500 IVF procedures and over 1,200 surgical procedures in his career. Prior to joining South Jersey Fertility Center he served as the Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for the Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. During his time in North Carolina he won two teaching awards for his work with resident physicians.
He has been published extensively in numerous journals including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fertility and Sterility. He has been invited to speak at local and national scientific meetings. Dr. Sawin is a two-time recipient of the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society Award for original research in infertility and the S. Leon Israel Award given by the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society. In addition, he has twice been awarded the Medical Professional Appreciation Award by the Polycystic Ovary Association, a national patient support group of PCOS.
Dr. Swain is a past president of the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society. He has served on the Practice Subcommittee on Reproductive Endocrinology of the American College of OB/GYN, which helps set the national standards for appropriate fertility care.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society, the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society and is on the editorial board of Fertility Today Magazine and the OB/GYN.net, PCOS section.
Dr. Swain was selected by South Jersey Magazine as a “Top Physician” 6 years in a row, “Top Physician for Women” 4 years in a row and as a “Top Doc” 5 years in a row. Philadelphia Magazine, US News and World Report and Inside Jersey Magazine recognized Dr. Swain as a Top Doctor 3 years in a row.
