Education and Certification
Texas fertility doctor Rakesh Mangal earned his undergraduate degree at Millsaps College in Mississippi and his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner Medical Institutions. Dr. Mangal then completed his fellowship in reproductive surgery (Advanced Endoscopic and Microscopic Surgery) at Texas Women’s Hosptial, and his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Mangal is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology.

Dr. Mangal is one of only a few doctors in the United States who completed fellowships in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility and advanced reproductive laparoscopic surgery. This allows him to be the medical and surgical specialist for pelvic pain, infertility and endometriosis.
Almost a decade ago Dr. Mangal joined his friend and teacher Dr. Robert Franklin in private practice at Obstetrics and Gynecological Associates (OGA) of Houston. Founded in 1962, it is one of the largest and most technologically advanced OB/GYN groups in the U.S. OGA’s assisted reproductive center, now called Fertility Specialists of Houston, is one of the largest and most consistently successful IVF programs in the nation.
Dr. Mangal offers a range of fertility treatments, like fertility tests, and treatment for conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, menstrual disorders, uterine and pelvic disorders, and precocious puberty. Dr. Mangal also offers first-line fertility treatments like fertility drugs, or artificial insemination, and more advanced options like IVF or ICSI.
